Gleave has achieved registration to OHSAS 18001

John Shaw, Managing Director said

"We pride ourselves on being a quality driven company inside and out and we believe that this is one of the areas that differentiates us from our competitors, therefore continuous improvement is imperative to our success. The health and safety of our staff, customers and suppliers is of paramount importance to us, so we're delighted to have taken this step forward in terms of meeting the requirements of the standard. We set a tight timescale for achieving this accreditation, all the staff have been dedicated to this project and we’re delighted with our OHSAS 18001 accreditation."

Registration of a management system based on OHSAS 18001 demonstrates responsibility to employees, clients, and society as a whole by ensuring that the company does everything in its power to reduce health & safety risks. OHSAS 18001 is based on the established principles of Plan, Do, Check, Act, and it focuses on the reduction of risk coupled with improved performance.

Andy Gibney, Logistics Manager at Gleave said "Achieving OHSAS 18001 accreditation is obviously a great achievement for the company, our new management system based on 18001 has not only met the OHSAS grade but most importantly it has helped us to reduce downtime even further, our people are more motivated, efficient and productive."
